A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, has said the party will do well to zone its ticket to the Southern part of the state.

This, he said was one sure way of paving the party’s path to victory in the forthcoming polls.

In an interview with Journalists in Abuja, yesterday, the aspirant commended the party’s national leadership for the role in played and continues to play in resolving issues surrounding the party leadership in the state.

He said, “I believe the problem in Ondo State has been solved. The issues with party leadership have been resolved, and we are ready to return home.

“I am from the southern senatorial district of Ondo State, precisely Okiti Pupa, the town that has consistently delivered PDP victories since ’99, and we will continue to do so in the next election.

“I fully support the zoning of the ticket to Ondo South senatorial district as the sure path for PDP’s success.

“I have been contesting for the PDP’s ticket for 25 years, and now that it’s our turn, I am confident I will win.

“I possess the capacity, knowledge, and skills required to defeat the APC. As an entrepreneur for 40 years, I understand that governance is about business and creating employment and wealth, which I’ve successfully done globally.”

Speaking about the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, he said, “What you don’t have you can’t give. It is what they have they have given and the best is yet to come.

“I am committed to giving the people of Ondo the best, ushering in a new era for the state within the new Nigeria.”

Recall that the Ambassador Umar Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC), on Tuesday met with stakeholders of the party from Ondo State and the South West to discuss modalities and strategies for the governorship primary as well as the way forward for the party in the zone.
