…Lauds rescue of abducted Kuriga students

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has expressed delight at the rescue and safe return of the abducted students of the Government Secondary School, Kuriga, Kaduna State.

According to the Universal President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, the safe return of the abducted students after two weeks in captivity is commendable.

“It has been two weeks since their abduction by armed bandits on the 7th of March, and their safe return is a great relief to us all. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in ensuring their release.

“We particularly salute the unwavering commitment displayed by President Bola Tinubu and the support of the service chiefs, the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani, and security agents towards securing the freedom of these innocent students. Their tireless efforts in ensuring that these students were rescued promptly cannot be overstated.

“Furthermore, we reiterate our stance on the need to prioritize and strengthen security measures within educational institutions across Nigeria. The safety and well-being of our students should never be compromised or taken for granted. Therefore, we urge relevant authorities to take necessary steps towards improving security manpower in schools so that such incidents do not repeat themselves.

“In conclusion, NANS celebrates with the families of the rescued GSS Kuriga students and thanks everyone who contributed to their safe return home.”
