Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi as Acting Rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan.

This is contained in a statement signed by Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu.

The statement said Lasisi will serve in acting capacity for six months with effect from March 25, 2024.
It explained that the appointment became imperative following the expiration of the tenure of Prof Kazeem Adebiyi on March 24, 2024.

Lasisi is a committed academic with wide experience in applied sciences with special skills in Statistics for national development.

He received a Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Statistics from University of Ibadan and a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Statistics (Time Series Analysis) from University of Botswana, Botswana, South Africa.

He was Dean of Student Affairs and Director of Academic Planning and Control Unit, The Polytechnic Ibadan, among other administrative responsibilities that he has upheld in my academic career.
