The Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has appealed to president Bola Tinubu to urgently address hunger that is currently ravaging the country.

Giwa, said in Akure, weekend,that the President should as a matter of urgency, find a lasting solution to economic hardship and insecurity.

He lamented that ” Nigeria was gradually turning to biblical Samaria, where they were eating human beings due to scarcity of food.

Speaking on the state of the Nation, the  cleric said that “Several incidents of attacks and looting of warehouses and food trucks have been reported in many cities against the backdrop of the hardship and the cost of living crisis in the country.

“Last week, some youths stole food items from trucks stuck in traffic along Kaduna Road in the Suleja area of Niger State.

“Also, in Enugu, a woman of three was reported to have committed suicide after dumping her three children at a police station.

“The woman, whose name could not be ascertained, walked into the Ogui Road police station with the children, handed them over to officers, stripped herself naked, and ran under the moving vehicle, which crushed her to death.

Giwa, while appealing to Tinubu to save the souls that are dying, urged the president to reopen land borders that were closed by the former administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said,” I warned this nation prior to the 2023 presidential election that we should look beyond the poll.

“There are a lot of things we ought to have been put in place, but ignored by the nation’s political leaders.

Giwa said the country may disintegrate if our leaders fail to genuinely restructure the country.

“We are gradually turning to biblical Samaria where cannibalism was recorded as a result of scarcity of food.

“I am begging President Bola Tinubu to do something urgent to save the souls that are currently dying.

“People are committing suicide, and the married men have started running away from their homes.

“Just last week, I met a pregnant woman lying down in front of the church, crying for help. As I approached her, she started crying profusely and said she had nothing at home to eat.

“Please, Mr. President, save the souls that are dying now. Nigeria has never witnessed this ugly situation ever before.

The cleric said that “A bag of cement is now being sold for N14,000. Nigerians now find it difficult to buy garri, not to mention rice.”
