Popular Benin based stand-Up comedian, Jerry Ochonogor, fondly known as MC AWILO, is set to unleash the second edition of his ‘Comedy Travel’ in the ancient city of Benin (now modern City) on Easter Sunday at the Sir Victor Uwaifo’s Creative Hub on Airport Road in Benin City.
For those who are abreast with Awilo’s shows, he has a spectacular way of keeping his guests excited with enormous laughter endlessly seen in their faces. He creates a spectacular atmosphere of laughter and fun, in such that one keeps laughing and laughing until one forgets the economic hardship in the country.

Laughter is medicinal and this Awilo’s show offers one at a chicken feed. He ensures that spontaneous comedians, versatile artistes and loud voices in the hype room mount his stage. This year promises to be more intriguing, considering the big names that he would be attracting to Benin.
This year’s edition would be housing one of Nigeria’s accomplished singers and musical maestro, Mr P. of the famous P-Square. Besides the twin brother of the ‘Square’ is the Mini-mini wanana master’, the iconic Maleke Idowu who has continually rendered tremendous music. Maleke is a creative singer whose music speaks truth to power with a bleed of romantic modernization. The colossal ‘I Go Save’ whom this writer watched on television as a kid while he performed alongside his childhood friend ‘I Go Dye’ on their ‘Mock News’ show is expected to lead an array of comedians on the D-Day. I Go Save is a name that needs no introduction, having excelled and still conquering after over three decades of dominance. The likes of Jaytunes Moray, son of the legendary Osayomore Joseph would be redefining the musical stage with his dynamic performances that has stood him out since emerging, and succeeding his father’s band. The current Nigeria comedy industry is driven by a host of few names. Pashun of Flatmate is one of them and he would be mounting the spectacular stage of Comedy Travels on Easter Sunday.
To further enrich this year’s edition, one of Nigeria’s funniest actor and comedians, Okon would be performing. Okon has remained relevant in dual capacities – acting and comedy. Others expected to perform include: King James, Broda Solo, Hon Senator, Edwardo, Mc Asoro and a host of others.
Speaking to Vanguard about the host, a pundit said, “MC Awilo himself would be displaying priceless performances. He would have to show the reasons his comedy travels without visas, and for me, I have no doubt about what he has to render knowing that he is funny, versatile, prolific, creative, dynamic, experienced and sought after. See you on Easter Sunday at the Victor Uwaifo’s Creative Hub on Airport Road.”
