A chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, Chief Patrick Eholor, hailed the Former National President of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Mr Olumide Akpata, over his overwhelming victory to emerge as governorship candidate of the party ahead of the Edo State governorship election.

Eholor described Akpata’s victory as an excellent performance, and reminded him about several barriers he encountered that led to his triumph, as he prayed for Akpata to have a successful journey to Government House.

Akpata defeated other aspirants in the party’s primary election conducted on Friday, in which he pulled 316 votes to win the primary election.

He (Akpata) thanked his supporters and members of the party for their support, and transparent conduct of the primaries, and assured that he would work for the people of the Edo State and change the narrative if he is elected the governor during the election scheduled to hold September 2024.

He said: “Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy, and your (Akpata) recent accomplishment is proof of this. Bravo! Your hard work has truly paid off.

“A big congratulations on your excellent performance. Remember, every challenge you have faced and every barrier you have overcome has led you to this triumphant moment. May this just be the beginning of your successful journey.”
