Nigerians, irrespective of religion and ethnicity, have been urged to pray for the Military and other security agencies , in their determination to tackle insecurity in the country.

The need for the reminder, according to the Convener ,Prayer and Support For the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies PSNAFSA, Ambassador Mary Abayomi -Fatile , became necessary following the efforts and sacrifice made by the Armed Forces and other security agencies to ensure the country remained an indivisible entity

Speaking at a press conference in Ikeja Lagos, today, on the Role of the Masses in Internal Security, Fatile, appreciated the Military , Police and other security agencies for what she described as their doggedness and commitment in ensuring safety and security of Nigeria.

She also appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS General Christopher Musa and the Service Chiefs for their good work in the onslaught against insurgency since they assumed office, expressing optimism that with the efforts put in place, insecurity would be addressed.

Though she noted that there was a need for adequate platforms for the security agents, she was however quick to add that they had been able to hold the security stage against terrorism and other violent crimes in Nigeria .

She said, “ Under the sun and in the rain , these uncommon professionals are seen everywhere. As I speak, a good percentage of Military personnel are in the bushes, jungles and creeks protecting us and the nation’s assets . Some of them have not gone home for years, let alone seeing their loved ones”.

” Therefore, it will not be out of place to reciprocate that gesture, as true Nigerians , through offering of prayers to them and their respective families”.

While noting that elsewhere in the globe security agents were celebrated and given due honour, she expressed condolence to traditional rulers and people of Tudun Boris community in Igabi Local Government area of Kaduna State, who lost their loved ones recently .

In an emotional laden tone Fatile, said, “ the Lord Almighty will comfort them and heal the wounded ones. “Affliction of such will never arise again”.
