A renowned Change agent and advocate for education, Dr Seun Bosede Osamaye, has commissioned the construction of an ultra-modern library at Adéyemí Federal University of Education, Ondo state.
The ultra-modern library boasts of a comprehensive collection of books spanning various disciplines, ensuring that students and faculty have access to a vast array of academic literature and research materials.
Furthermore, the facility features cutting-edge digital resources, allowing for seamless access to online databases and journals. With comfortable study areas, collaborative spaces, and technologically advanced multimedia rooms, the library provides the perfect environment for both individual and group learning.”
Speaking during the ceremony, Seun Bosede Osamaye said: “Developing the nation starts from the classroom. I decided to build and donate this library not because I earn much but because I believe our students need a conducive place for studying and for them to cultivate a culture of reading and learning.”
She further said: “I have long been a champion of education and believe that access to quality educational resources is a fundamental right of every student. Recognizing the crucial role that libraries play in facilitating learning and research, I spared no effort in ensuring that the library at Adéyemí Federal University of Education, Ondo is equipped with the latest technologies and resources.”
On his part, the Hon Minister Of Education, Prof Tahir Maman, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Federal University Of Technology, Akure harped on the importance of citing libraries in the premises of an institution, adding that it will further strengthen the horizon of the Students.
A former Provost of the institution, Prof Adeyemi Ìdòwú, while commissioning the library said it’s a wake-up call for others to raise the banner of education.
“It’s not as if the donor is richer than others but the commitment and passion to give back”, he said.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution who spoke for the academic community, expressed immense gratitude to Dr Osamaye, saying: “By providing this ultramodern library, Dr. Osamaye has demonstrated his firm belief in the transformative power of education.”
The member representing Ondo West constituency II at the State Assembly, Hon Biola Oladapo noted that “the library stands as a symbol of progress and innovation, and it will undoubtedly shape the future of education at Adéyemí Federal University of Education. Dr Osamaye’s visionary gift will empower students, inspire faculty, and elevate the intellectual landscape within the institution.”
