The newly re-elected president of the Road Transport Employers Association Of Nigeria RTEAN, Comrade Osakpawan Eriyo, yesterday expressed the readiness of the union to collaborate with the Lagos state government.
He stated this at a press conference held Thursday at the nation’s capital.
Osakpawan Eriyo who was re-elected for a second term alongside Alh. Abdulraman Amusan as the national Secretary General amongst others also expressed the union’s readiness to synergize on refocusing and reorganizing the transport sector in Lagos state in line with the state government’s vision and aspirations.
Eriyo appealed to the Lagos state government to reconsider its decision on the ban of the union’s activities.
He said, “The only area where we are having issues right now is Lagos State and we are appealing to the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu to allow our union to operate freely in Lagos so that the transportation sector can be reorganized and that is why we are coming out to appeal to the state government and all the relevant authorities.”
