Manchester United will host FC Copenhagen today in what can be regarded as a make-or-mar fixture towards the quest for knock-out stage qualification. In a rather unlucky manner, Manchester United fell to consecutive defeats away at the Allianz Arena to Bayern Munich and at home to in-form Galatasaray.
Eric Ten Hag’s men have blown hot and cold at several points this season. With a few injuries here and inconsistencies, they have only managed to scrape out wins in their past matches but will be hoping to grind out a win this time to keep their chances of qualification alive.
Copenhagen won’t be an easy task for Manchester United. The Danish side currently sits first in their league standing, having won eight of their twelve matches played. They have all the strength to pose a great threat to any team, either home or away.
Form
Manchester United: WWLLW
Copenhagen: WDLLW
Team news
Ten Hag is still without Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Lisandro Martinez due to the club’s ongoing back injury problems. Jonny Evans is also doubtful. Along with Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo, Jadon Sancho is still unavailable.
Midfielder Casemiro will also not be in contention following his red card against Galatasaray.
Birger Meling is a serious injury doubt for Copenhagen, and Noah Sahsah and William Clem appear to be out once more. However, Oscar, the brother of Rasmus Hojlund, ought to be on the team.
Predictions
Although they have been unconvincing all through this season, Manchester United will file out hungry this time, as their European future depends solely on the outcome of this clash.
Manchester United 3 vs Copenhagen 2
