One of the key strengths of e-procurement in combating fraud is its ability to create an automated audit trail. Every procurement activity, from bid submission to contract award, is recorded digitally, allowing authorities to track transactions and quickly identify irregularities. Online platforms further promote transparency by publishing bid opportunities and contract awards, enabling public scrutiny and reducing opportunities for favouritism. Additionally, automated reporting features ensure real-time monitoring of procurement activities, making fraud detection considerably easier.

E-procurement systems also enhance accountability by providing a clear digital record of every transaction, making it easier to hold individuals responsible for their actions. Automated approval workflows help minimize unauthorized or fraudulent activities by ensuring that every transaction follows a standardized process. Reducing human intervention in procurement tasks significantly lowers the risk of bribery and manipulation, as digital systems remove the discretionary power often exploited in manual processes.
