This report highlights the contributions of five transformational leaders who have not only solved personal career challenges, but have also spearheaded significant advancements, driving efficiency, sustainability, and technological integration within the Nigerian supply chain sector. Their foresight, strategic initiatives, and commitment to excellence are reshaping the entire industry, setting new standards, and fostering a more competitive and interconnected future for Nigeria.
Adeleke Adebayo
Adeleke Adebayo is a Supply Chain and Security Expert. He is a seasoned security and defense professional with 20 years of service in the United States Army. He is an expert in geopolitics, supply chain risk management, national security frameworks, indigenous supply chain, and trade. He is the CEO of Adebayo Adeleke LLC and the CEO of Supply Chain Africa.
He also serves as a Managing Partner at Pantote Solutions LLC and a Lecturer in Supply Chain Management. He has multiple master’s degrees in areas like Supply Chain Management and Acquisition Management. He is also the founder of the Rising Leadership Foundation. He has featured in many supply chain conferences and mentored professionals in the field.
Azuka Okeke
She is the Chief Executive Officer, Africa Resource Centre for Excellence in Supply Chain Management (ARC_ESM) where she leads supply chain transformation projects in Nigeria and other African countries, with a significant emphasis on strengthening health systems.
Azuka Okeke is recognized as a thought leader and advisor to National Ministries of Health in Africa. Her expertise lies in engaging governments and development partners to prioritize and invest in health supply chain programs. Her work has led to increased financial investments from Federal and State governments in Nigeria, as well as co-investments worth over $8,000,000 from organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Global Fund, and USAID.
She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Harrison Jnr Ilodigwe
Harrison is a top Supply Chain professional. He is one of the founding members of the Supply Chain Network. This happens to be the largest network of Supply Chain Professionals in the continent and provides systems for extensive collaboration amongst professionals. He is a MCIPS Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
He has also served as the branch secretary for the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the Executive Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc program at Cranfield University.
Obinna Nwodo
He is a highly recognized Procurement & Supply Chain strategist and consultant. He is particularly known for his expertise in strategic procurement and inventory optimization. He co-founded YSCP, a rapidly growing prominent community in Nigeria with over 800 members, dedicated to building the next generation of supply chain leaders. It is the largest young professional network in Africa. YSCP focuses on addressing knowledge and skills gaps, providing mentorship, training, and access to industry best practices. He is deeply involved in community building and mentorship.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from the University of Salford, Manchester UK.
Dr. Bola Afolabi
Dr. Afolabi is a globally recognized Contracting and Procurement Professional. He was elected as the pioneer Councilor representing Africa on the governing council of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), UK. He later became a Council and Board member, was appointed Vice President in 2008, and served as Global President in 2009, becoming the first non-European to hold this prestigious position in the world body on supply chain management.
He has led many successful change initiatives and process improvements. He also contributed significantly to the emergence of the Public Procurement Act in Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Regional Development & Environmental Science from the University of Port Harcourt, an M.Sc. in Marine Transportation from the State University of New York, Maritime College, USA, and an undergraduate degree in Transportation Planning from the Centre for Business Studies in the UK
