LASU Honorary Doctorate Degree: Fayemi is making us proud — Ikole elders

The leadership of the Elders Council of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, on Thursday, congratulated the immediate past Governor of the State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on the award of Honorary Doctorate Degree bestowed on him by the Management of Lagos State University, LASU
Fayemi, who is the immediate past Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum, will receive the award of Doctor of Letters (Human Rights, National Integration and African Security Development).

Reacting to the award, the Elders Council of the APC in Ikole Council Area said Fayemi has put Ekiti State in the world map in a very decent and honorable manner.

The Elders, in a message jointly signed by Chief S.A Abejide, Chief Ola Adeniyi and Aare Afolabi Ogunlayi respectively, said even outside office, Fayemi has continued to make them proud.

The statement reads: “We write to congratulate the immediate past Governor of Ekiti-State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on the Honorary Doctorate Degree to be bestowed on him on Thursday June 22nd by the Management of Lagos State University.

“We are not surprised that Fayemi is getting a Doctorate Degree, but we are happy because of the reason he’s being honoured. We are happy that Fayemi has continued to make us proud. We are happy to be associated with him on this epoch-making event.

“We are very delighted that Fayemi’s contributions toward the development of Nigeria and the continent of Africa is being recognized by a top higher institution of learning like LASU.

“On behalf of the people of Ikole Local Government, we congratulate Fayemi and his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for not putting us to shame. This is just the beginning. We are confident that Dr. Kayode Fayemi still have an unfinished business to do in Nigeria.”
