Temitope Kayode, a seasoned physician and health policy specialist, has disclosed her effort in driving innovative solutions and advancing healthcare excellence through her exceptional strategic leadership, and tireless efforts to revolutionize the health sector.

She made this known in a press briefing recently, sharing insights into her remarkable career as a public health practitioner and how she is driving change in the industry.

Kayode’s career in the healthcare industry began with a strong educational foundation, graduating from the prestigious University of Ibadan with a degree in medicine. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree at  New York Medical College, United States; further solidifying her expertise in public health.

With over a 15-year wealth of experience addressing Nigeria’s most pressing health challenges, she has focused on strengthening public health systems at the national and local level, integrating them with health and social services.

She said: “I’m passionate about improving our healthcare system and addressing disparities.

“My work focuses on developing evidence-based policies, strengthening partnerships, and empowering communities to take charge of their health.”

Her work experience spans various health programs funded by prominent donors, including UKAID, USAID, World Bank, and the Global Fund, across different intervention areas. She provides advisory support to State ministries of health across the country on strengthening health systems and improving health outcomes.

She stated: “Collaboration is key to driving change. We must work together to address the health challenges facing our communities and support vulnerable populations.” She has led the development of health policies, operational budgets, and strategic documents for the health sector in Nigeria.”

Kayode highlighted the importance of community engagement and policy advocacy. “Community engagement and policy advocacy can create a more equitable healthcare system.” she added. 

Throughout her career, Kayode has addressed critical health sector challenges. She advocates for increased investment in primary healthcare, public-private partnerships, and capacity building for healthcare professionals.
