ITF DG hails NECA Boss over ILO appointment

Jos – The Director-General/Chief Executive of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Sir Joseph Ari has described as well-deserved, the appointment of the Director General of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA. Mr. Adewale Oyerinde as a Member of the Governing Council of the International Labour Organisation, ILO.

Sir Ari who conveyed his congratulations in a letter to the NECA DG said the appointment, which was not only a special recognition to the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, but Nigeria as a nation, “would go a long way in ensuring the leveraging of standards set by the ILO and global trends which in turn will bring about value addition to the HRD sector in the country.”

The ITF boss, according to a statement by Suleyol Chagu, the Fund’s Director, Public Affairs Department added that for the ITF, “the appointment was especially encouraging given the shared values and great partnership between the ITF and NECA through the Technical Skills Development Project (TSDP), which is implemented by the two organizations.”

While hoping that Mr. Oyerinde would bring his vast experience to bear on his new position, the DG prayed to God to give him the strength to fully discharge his duties as a Member of the ILO Governing body.
