PRESIDENTIAL candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi has won in 11 of the 16 Local Government Areas so far announced out of the 25 Local Government Areas by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Delta State.

His closest rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has won in five local government areas of the state.

Obi won in Ika South, Aniocha North, Ethiope West, Oshimili North, Ndokwa West, Ukwuani, Aniocha South, Ethiope East, Sapele, Ndokwa East and Oshimili South Local Government Areas as announced by the various Local Government Returning Officers.

Atiku won in Ika North-East, Bomadi, Patani, Warri North and Burutu.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Collation Officer for Presidential Election, SCOPE, Prof. Owuneri Abraham Georgewill, has warned the media against publishing incorrect information from the collation center.

Owuneri who gave the warning at the commencement of announcements of more results on Monday morning, said at no time was results from any local government area, particularly Ika North East was rejected as reported by a section of the social media, saying that it was condemnable to misinform the public.

In another development, the State Residents Electoral Commissioner Pastor Monday Udom-Tom, Monday, said an officer during the conduct of the last Saturday’s elections.

Udoh-Tom said, security agents had opened fire on a vehicle conveying electoral materials whose driver refused to stop for check.

According to him, one person in the vehicle died, while some others who were NYSC members sustained injuries and were presently being treated in an undisclosed hospital.
