Motolani Olusegun Alake, a trained Lawyer and entrepreneur, made his name as a multimedia media personality and music, and pop culture commentator and critic, who promoted West African pop culture from Nigeria, while he was a journalist at Pulse Nigeria.
He became the most powerful music critic and one of the most powerful voices in Nigeria music journalism, who has spoken up about other entertainment contributors, and journalists, at various seminars, panels and lectures for not being credited for their materials even as they grow with established brands, the Nigerian system of media fails them.
His voice has helped to create a standard of expectation, and has educated the masses on the intricacies of the music business. Through that, he gained an international following, which transcended the African continent. He was particularly known for his accurate predictions and vision for Afrobeats, its talent and its landscape through ‘Fact Only,’ a weekly commentary show, which aired on Pulse Nigeria.
Motolani Alake, an executive in the multinational media firm Pulse Network Africa, has been involved in print media, broadcasting media, and internet media. His articles have been well-received and criticized by its subject.
He has since grown into a podcaster, public speaker, author, television host, talent show judge, tastemaker, entrepreneur, strategy consultant in the entertainment industry, music executive, and more.
Motolani IS a household name in the entertainment media industry, he has recruited and nurtured many writers, journalists and music executives, who look up to him in the industry.

1) He was born Motolani Olusegun Alake in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
2) He was raised in Akure, Ondo State.

4) Motolani relocated to Lagos for Law School in 2014
5) Motolani then went for NYSC in 2016 at Eket, Akwa Ibom
6) Motolani began his career in media, but has since worked in corporate commercial law practice, humanitarian aid for development partners, financial investment before landing at Pulse Nigeria where he made his name. He became Editor-In-Chief at Pulse Nigeria in March 2022, and resigned from his position in December 2022.
7) Motolani was in a feud with the Nigerian Afrobeat Queen Tiwa Savage in 2020, but the issue was settled two days later, and he has since become cordial with the Afrobeats superstar.

As an entrepreneur, he co-founded a now defunct fintech company in 2016, co-founded media company, Urban Central in 2017, runs Airness Multimedia, his own consultancy company for strategy, branding, PR, talent management, music services (A&R/Publishing), and joined many tech startups in the early stage as an investor or a member.

He also became a Chart Manager at Turntable Charts in 2022.
