The first edition of Open – Mic took place September 2, 2022, within a short period of timing and the result of the event are overwhelming.

The first ever display of Open – Mic took place at The Empire Lagos – a lounge and nightlife club space situated at Ikota (close to the populate Mega Chicken Plaza) dated

Open Mic aims to be underground talents hunt scenery. It is an open space to further support the system that has few platforms to support music talents who little or no financial support.

The dream of every talent is to be heard no matter how small the audience is, that alone could serve as a fuel or ginger for more creative process.

The subtle introduction of this littler verse will drive a new narrative of nay-sayers in the emerging music scenes, which in turn would be the voice for the unheard.

The planners in collaboration with Empire Lagos are targeting a wider scope for young people, educate the greater crowd on supporting young talents, create an avenue where they meet their role models and more.
