Ovu Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization, NGO, has awarded scholarship to pupils of TEA Salubi Primary School, Oviorie-Ovu community, Agbon clan, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.

The two beneficiaries of the award are Miss Dominion Amaka Williams who got a cheque of One Hundred Thousand Naira as the winner of the scholarship text conducted and Miss Dorothy Efe who also got a cheque of Seventy Five Thousand and Five Hundred Naira as the winner of the reading competition organised by the foundation.

The president of Ovu Foundation, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, while presenting the cheques to the two best students, Miss Williams and Miss Efe, charged them to be focused, dedicated and show total commitment to their studies.

Prof. Rim-Rukeh, who is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State, advised the parents of the awardees to monitor their academic activities so as to improve in their performance.

The Chairman of the Scholarship Award Committee, Prof Alphonsus Isara, who also spoke on the award ceremony, commended the students for their efforts and also advised them to take their studies seriously so that they can continue to enjoy awards from the foundation.

Speaking further, Prof. Isara applauded the teachers of TEA Salubi Primary School, for their commitment and dedication to the teaching of the pupils, saying it was for unrelenting efforts that the pupils have emerged winners for the second time.

He advised other primary school teachers in the community to emulate and challenge TEA Salubi Primary School in emerging winners in the subsequent editions of their scholarship awards

Comrade Oghobase Efe, one of the parents of the awardees while speaking on behalf of the recipients, commended the president of the foundation and his members for their immense contributions to the growth of education in the area.

He prayed that God should continue to bless, protect and grant them their heart desires, assuring the foundation that the pupils will not disappoint or betray the trust and confidence reposed on them.
