In a bid to promote distinction in the academia, the Mewar International University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Crown University Intl Chartered Inc., on academic excellence.

A statement in Abuja by UNESCO Laureate Prof. Aremu Bashiru on Saturday, said the partnership was intended to improve and empower both institutions and their students as well as training in identified areas of special needs, such as humanities, arts, technologies, engineering, medicine, among others.

The statement read: “Crown University Intl. Chartered Inc. represented by its Vice Chancellor, UNESCO Laureate Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu , and the Mewar International University (MIU)New Karu Via Abuja  Nigeria, represented by its Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Tanko, have resolved to establish a partnership for credit transfer, reciprocal arrangement, International conferences, seminar, workshop, training and research at all level of studies for global research network and international quality assurance network and other International activities worldwide.

“Mewar International University (MIU) Nigeria  has partnered with Crown University Intl. Chartered Inc. in USA, which its teaching and research hospital campus is located at  Santa Cruz province  in Argentina with official partners’ constituent campuses at government regulated universities worldwide and online operation, to achieve academic excellence for both institutions.”

Speaking after signing the MoU, the vice chancellor of Crown University, Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu, said the partnership would also include reciprocal/dual certifications and top up degree arrangements for the Mewar International University (MIU) Nigeria, on undergraduate and graduate programmes on a credit transfer-based criterion as established by the university.

He added that the two universities shall undertake regular exchange of their respective practices and methods in training and research and other fields, as well as intensify discussion between their staff to look for solutions to the problems of either or both parties, while deploying all necessary efforts to ensure funding of activities from this partnership.

He said, “Students from Crown University Intl. Chartered Inc must meet all other admission and transfer criteria documented in the then-current Mewar International University (MIU) Nigeria, catalog.

“All Crown University Intl Chartered Inc. students who are studying in the areas of Humanities, Arts, Technologies, Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Pure and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Management Sciences and other related courses as well complete their programs at Mewar International University (MIU) New karu Bia Abuja Nigeria , shall receive a degree as dual degree or top up degrees based on the articulation agreement established between both parties,” Aremu

He maintained that the financial resources and materials would be provided by both parties to look for solutions to their problems or to train their staff, while the two parties agree to organise annual consultative meetings using appropriate technology aimed at appraising the implementation of the partnership.

“The vice chancellor said Crown University Intl, shall pay any tuition charged by Mewar International University (MIU) New karu Bia Abuja Nigeria, per student for all applicable degrees, while transfer students must submit their transcripts from former institutions to the Mewar International University (MIU) New karu Bia Abuja Nigeria,” Aremu stated.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor of Mewar International University (MIU) New karu, Prof. Muhammad Tanko, assured that the universities would adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of the partnership as contained in the MoU.
