ECHO Society,  a new community for youths, in collaboration with MetroFest, has concluded plans for a programme for young founders, creatives and CEO’s.

Titled Metro Connect, the event, scheduled to hold in Abuja on September 25, 2022, is the maiden gathering for what would subsequently become a monthly series.

One of the founding members of ECHO Society, Mr. Oscar Nwokeji, in a statement, said the platform would organize and host events  that express culture, hightech and opportunities for youths.

His words:” ECHO Society is hosting “metro connect”, also in collaboration with MetroFest. This is a networking event for young Founders, Creatives and CEO’s in Abuja that will take place on the 25th of September. This will be their pilot for the monthly events and here guests can expect everything from food and wine tasting, networking and speed dating – all in one with the community staying true to their idea of mixing business and pleasure for maximum growth.

“The aim is to offer entertainment, education and empowerment to the youths by organizing events that help showcase their businesses, ideas and talents all while enjoying themselves.

“The idea was born after metrofest hosted a successful summer BBQ fair in Abuja that saw tremendous traction but also great feedback as they managed to ensure maximum exposure for young entrepreneurs in the food all while sharing opportunities within tech and celebrating the culture. For this the group of youths that are behind the ECHO Society  partnered with metrofest to organize the event jointly.

“Through this, the  individuals behind this saw the need for a community where like minded youths can meet on a regular basis and have direct access to curated events specifically hosted for their growth – all while enjoying themselves as a youth.

“The name ECHO came to life as the founders were brainstorming the important elements in a community like this. While it  is an acronym for Events, Culture, High-tech and opportunities which is the main purpose of the community and features that are seen in all their activations, it is also a way to express the need of communities.  Echo is a sound that is a copy of another sound – which is produced when the sound bounce of a surface – just like ideas bounce of each other to create magic.

“With this as a focus, the community will host monthly and annual events for youths where they can be exposed to other individuals and opportunities as well as tools. You will see smaller meet ups and happenings where the core community members meet to discuss and explore.

“What all these events have in common is that  each will always have a theme. Entertainment will always be main focus.

“I look forward to seeing this society grow and to be part of a community where you can see business and pleasure being celebrated in a way you haven’t seen before. You will see the two live in symphony for the first time. This will create great opportunities for young talents and entrepreneurs to be exposed to the right people. They have a few exciting partners backing. It will be announced later in the year when they host their first annual event.”
