Recently Ignatius Ehinome Okojie who is a hip hop star also known as Dboi announced his change of name from Nome to Dboi on social; media platforms where he explicitly states that he will no longer be going by Nome for both professional and creative reasons.

According to the hip hop star, Nome is an extract from his native Edo name Ehinome from his original name. Nome was original meant to mean beauty and grace which rhymes truly with his intention of how he wants his music to be perceived by fans and music lovers all around the world.

However Nome does not go with the stage name Nome anymore and has resided to further his flourishing music career with the new stage name Dboi.

Amid a lot of speculation it is perceived that the hip hop star changed his name a result of the name being way too common in the entertainment sphere. The hip hop star is obviously looking to stand out as he should. It is only easier and logical that Nome changes his name in order to remain separate and unique from the pack just as his craft.

Many have asked the question regarding the reason why the hip hop star have chosen Dboi ahead of many other names he could have embraced amid fans suggestions. Dboi is fresh and unique and also serves as a childhood name his mother calls him for praise and acknowledgement when the hip hop star is making waves as he started performing and enjoying fame at the tender age of seven.

The rap sensation stated that in a recent interview that changing his name is purely as a result of both creative and professional purpose and will encourage fans to do the same in acknowledging his new name.
