Novak Djokovic qualified for Sunday’s Wimbledon final after beating homeboy Cameron Norrie 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to maintain his dominance at SW19 on Friday.
The win for Djokovic means he has now reached his fourth Wimbledon final. Only Roger Federer (2003-2007), Pete Sampras (1997-2000), and Sweden’s Björn Borg (1976-1980) have same or more finals in the Open Era.
It was also the second time Djokovic will come from a set down to win at this year’s edition having also come from a set down against Italian, Jannik Sinner in the quarter final.
The Serbian top seed has dropped five sets in this campaign and will face Australian Nick Kyrgios who reached his first Grand Slam final via a walkover after Rafael Nadal pulled out of Wimbledon due to an abdominal injury.
Kyrgios has equally dropped five sets in this campaign but has a better head-to-head result from their meetings in 2017. Kyrgios won in straight sets on both occasions at the round of 16 in Acapulco (7-6(9) 7-5) and the Indian Wells Masters quarter finals (6-4 7-6(3))
