By Chancel Sunday

Delegates of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, yesterday, adopted Chief Simeon Loku as a consensus candidate of the party in Burutu Constituency 1 for the Delta State House of Assembly in 2023 general elections.

Adopting Chief Loku at Seimbiri Ward 4, Oboro community, venue of the party primaries in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, all thirteen delegates unanimously voted for the lone aspirant, thereby making him to emerge the party flagbearer for the State Assembly contest in 2023.

Chairman of YPP, Delta South Senatorial District, Mr Preye Joseph, however assured party faithful and constituents that Chief Loku would deliver the dividends of democracy when elected to the State Assembly.

Chief Loku, in his response, said: “I thank you delegates and the party leadership at the local, state and national for the trust reposed in me.

“By the Grace of God, when I’m elected to the Assembly, I will work hard to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroot.

“I want to assure you that I will be accessible to my constituents, listen to their yearnings, rub minds together with them and draw the government closer to the grassroot through dividends of democracy”.
