The Liberian music scene is growing in leaps and bounds, as more and more home-grown artists are stepping onto the big stage to make the country proud. One of such artists is young Lourell Andymark George popularly known as Stunna.
Stunna is a Liberian RNB, AfroPop ,Afrobeat artist born in Monrovia, Liberia. Stunna started recording music in his late teens when he released his first played song, “Zoko Love” featuring his former label mate, A Raw. His career started with Swag District which was also the home of popular and talented singer, J Slught; and currently the home of well known rapper Nuchie Meek.
In 2017, Stunna was among the top six artists chosen by the fans to be the next Lonestar Cell MTN Brand Ambassador, although he did not win, this was a turning point in Stunna’s rising career.
He gained more attention when he released his songs “Cold Feelings” featuring Chiller Coolnanee, “Daddy” and “You Meant It”. After the release of Stunna’s first hit song, “Baby O”, his career skyrocketed.
Apart from his collaborations with some of Liberia’s most popular musicians like Kobazzie, PCK, Teddyride, Bucky Raw, Jaredo, and more, Stunna was able to get on two songs with international artists Iyanya and Ice Prince.
In early 2018, Stunna recorded and shot the video for his song, “Balance” which featured hit maker, Iyanya, and went on to get nominations at prestigious Liberian awards. At the end of 2018, Stunna and Bucky Raw flew to Nigeria to work on yet another video and song with an international artist – Ice Prince – dubbed, “Thank You”.
Stunna has gone on to win awards from the Tunes Liberia Music Awards, as well as receiving several nominations from the LMA, LEA and other local award programs.
Finally, Stunna is a humanitarian. He is regularly seen donating books and sharing his talent with less-fortunate children all around Liberia. He currently attends AMEU in the heart of Monrovia where, according to his team, he has established a group tagged “Stunna Tribe”.
