A former Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Chris Agara Esq has revealed that he dumped the party to join APC because he wants to join hands to move the state forward.
Agara made the revelation during major rally in Ikom as well as Obubra when over 30,000 part faithful joined the APC.
According to him those left in PDP don’t mean well for Cross River because nothing was left in the party while calling on them to join the winning team .
He said they have come to strengthen the party in a bid to make it more formidable in the state with a view to adding value and bringing effective governance to them by connecting to the center.
Chief Agara who also moved with his over 25,000 supporters to the APC said his defection to the APC was like putting on new clothes made with beautiful design that you like which makes you feel good .
“Joining the APC is like wearing a new dress. And when you have a new dress well sewn with a design you like, you feel good. And moving from PDP to APC is indeed very special and historic and we have to show that firm support to my friend and brother, Prof Ben Ayade,” he said.
Agara who was received by the chieftain of the party and former Senate Majority Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba and Chief Ernest Irek at Ikom and Obubra subsequently, noted that his joining the APC was all about bringing value addition to the party in a bid to move the state forward.
“They should expect me to be part of the unity of the party, they should expect me to be part of the progress of the party. I am going to be part of moving the party forward and making sure the APC wins all elections.”
“when I defected at the ward level, I told them that we have come to add strength and make them the winning team. I am sure that from now on, we will be a more formidable team because from the crowd you see here, APC is now the only party we know ,” he stated .
Others who were present at the event in Ikom and Obubra include Chief Ernest Irek ,Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba , Chief Peter Ojie , Chief Ebuta Ojong , APC Caretaker Committee chairman amongst others.
