‘The Neighborhood Talk’ launches online bullying & abuse prevention initiative

Maryland based The Neighborhood Talk aka ‘TNhT’, has launched an Online Bullying & Abuse Prevention Initiative. CEO of TNhT, Kyle Anfernee Simpson explained that the objective of the initiative is to seeks for ways to prevent Online Bullying and abuse as well as support those who are customs of Online Bullying and abuse.

He said that as an urban blog The Neighborhood Talk feels is their social responsibility to help create a safe online space for everyone especially young men and women.

Kyle said the initiative will also tackle social issues including but not limited to online trolling, domestic violence, child pornography and child labour.

He says this initiative was borne out of the need to empower and support their followers and reader who have experienced or knows anyone who has been a victim(s) of these abusive practices and also to encourage them to speak up and speak out about these and other social issues so others will know they are not alone.

“The support from the online community and it celebrity clients as a whole has been overwhelming. The initial aim was to act as a support group and safe space for these victims, but We want to broaden our focus and expand our targets. So far I have funded this initiative with my personal finances with the help of my staff, but I am currently seeking sponsorship/partnership from corporate entities to help fund and expand the initiative” Kyle said.

Studies have shown that Online Bullying and other abusive behavior increased during the months of the COVID pandemic lockdown. Explaining further, he said the lockdown measures put in place to prevent the spread of covid 19, has forced lots of schools and businesses to close down, so a lot of people mostly kids were at home which meant more people are online these days.
