ABUJA- Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Thursday felicitated with media mogul, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi following the latter’s recovery from the coronavirus disease.

Atiku took to his official Twitter Handle @atiku to offer prayers of thanksgiving to God for the life one of his political associates and friends who a fortnight ago, tested positive for the deadly virus.

“I rejoice with the Dokpesi family and @OfficialAITlive over the discharge of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi and members of his family following a successful recovery from COVID-19. It is my prayer that Chief Raymond Dokpesi Jnr and others undergoing treatment will be released soon,” he wrote.

Similarly, former Anambra state governor and running mate to Atiku in the 2019 poll, Mr. Peter Obi also prayed God to extend same mercies to Dokpesi’s son, who was the first in the family to contract the virus.


“Dear High Chief Raymond Dokpesi,” he wrote, “I join you, your family and the AIT in gratitude and thanksgiving to God over successful recoveries from COVID-19. May the same mercies and grace be available to your son, Chief Raymond Dokpesi Jnr.”

Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communication Group was issued a clean bill of health alongside two of his grandchildren yesterday after receiving treatment at an isolation centre in the nation’s capital city for about two weeks.
