Sharon Okpamen born Okpamen Enorese has come a long way, from a Nollywood upstart to a leading light of the Nigerian film industry.
After almost decade of active contribution to filmmaking in Nigeria as an actress-cum-producer, her efforts have been applauded by fans and stakeholders in the make-believe industry as she was recently honoured with a recognition award by Edisa Awards.
“Among other accolades, I have won J-Drims Moving Pictures ‘ Best Producer of 2017 with the movie Olighi, Best Lead Character 2018 of the High Combination Entertainment award and this year, now, I have been honoured with the Icons Award 2019 for Beauty Influencer by Edisa Award,” she said.
Since her entry into Nollywood in 2010, Sharon Okpamen has not looked back. She has produced and featured in several movies including The Great Servant, Take A Fall, Eshikito, Enibokun Nollose, Ovbieze Odehiomwan, Olighi, Efosa and The Housewife among others.

She had been a devout filmmaker despite being an enterprising beauty entrepreneur and a talented musician. “The reason I stick to filmmaking,” she explained, “is because I want to contribute to the society by visual, visual messages run faster than written.”
After her debut in Touch Not My Own, she has produced a score of movies in Edo language, especially with Bini themes. In the past seven years, she has been the dominant figure in the Edo film niche. She, however, rebuffed the label of a ‘cultural’ producer, insisting: “That’s not true, I also do English movies too. I had produced movies like Take a Fall.”
On why she had dedicated her creativity largely to Edo films, Okpamen Enorese offered an explanation: “There are many wrongs to be corrected as far as my origin is a concern. Hence, I have to do more movies that draw from my culture.”
Out of her catalogue of Edo films, Sharon Okpamen identified Eshikito, Odehiomwan and Olighi as some of her best efforts.
“There is no film I produce that is not good, but these three are special to me,” she affirmed.
