Real Stars FC of Kaduna on Tuesday said it has recruited 15 new players to join the team ahead of the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign beginning in April.
The club Team Manager, Garba Lawal told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Kaduna that the recruitment was to promote grassroots players and strengthen the team.
“We want to build a stronger team and that is why we are bringing on board young and talented players who can win matches for us in the quest of gaining promotion.
” We have maintained policy of recruiting grassroots players to strengthen the old players.
” We give everyone chance especially grassroots to have experience.”
He said the club retained only a few old players from last season and recruited 15 new players to blend with them.
According to him, he is optimistic the club will have a good season and make it to the premiership league.
” We are ready to turn things around positively this season to get promoted to the premiership league.
” Our outing this season is to get promotion and also compete to win.
” We have experience in the last season by coming second in our group and also participating in the super eight which we played without any penalty.
” I have no fear with the players because last season we played very well and hope to put on a good fight this season too,” Lawal said. (NAN)
