Okorocha speaks on his Certificate of Return after meeting with Buhari

The out-going Imo Governor, Mr Rochas Okorocha has said that he has not done anything wrong just as he said that he is waiting for the release of his Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Okorocha stated this after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Okorocha said ‘as it stands today I am just waiting patiently for the release of my Certificate of Return on the election that I won and INCE would release my Certificate.

‘I have not contravene any section of the constitution, I have not done anything not to be giving my Certificate and I pray INEC will do just what is right

INEC conduct this election, results were declared the Returning Officer declared the results and I won. Only one week later somebody wrote a petition that the he issued the results under duress. The question is where?

Was it his private house? Or is it the collation centre ? If it is the collation centre SSS were there, Police were there, the international observes, INEC officials, EO were there.

Who actually put him under duress the man has not been able to say that ….

Governor Okorocha arrived at the State House about 1pm and proceeded straight to the President’s office.

The Imo State Governor who contested the National Assembly election on February 23 to represent Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu zone) was declared winner of the election but the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Returning Officer who declared him winner, later said that he did that under duress.

The development made the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu to withhold his Certificate of Return.

The outgoing Imo State Governor has been having problem with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for his alleged anti-party activities during the governorship election.

He was accused to have worked for the Action Alliance, AA, candidate, Uche Nwosu, his Son-in-law who lost to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, against his party, the APC.
