WARRI: A group, Niger Delta Election Watch has dismissed allegations by some politicians that the Department of State Services,DSS  in Rivers state  under the command of Mr Tosin Ayayi  had instructions to ensure collation and declaration of the Rivers state governorship election was aborted.

Coordinator of the group, Mr Ngozi  Philip in a statement in Warri, Delta state  said  politicians should not drag  the DSS into its activities, stressing that the security body had  maintained neutrality in electoral matters in the state and the Niger Delta region.

He said   the DSS Director  in Rivers state , Mr Ajayi   is noted for his commitment to strict professional  operations, adding that he  will never  allow the body to serve any ulterior motive.

“We have followed the operations of the  DSS  Director in Rivers state , Mr Tosin Ayaji   for several years. He is not new to the region. He  will never allow the body under his command in the state to be used to serve  the interest of any politician. He is a core security mind.

It is very unfortunate that some politicians will want to drag the DSS into their wicked political activities. They should please leave out this noble institution from their endless and callous campaign of calumny and blackmail “, he said.
