The Director of the Office of the Public Defender, Adenrera Adeyemi, who was the counsel to the defendant, told the court Anani does not understand English language.

Anani, 22, was alleged to have committed the offences on October 31, at Bademosi’s Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos residence.

Shitta-Bey, said the defendant allegedly stabbed Bademosi, 67, to death with a knife and stole his valuables, including the deceased’s phone.
