PDP scores self high, says it will take over from Obiano

Nnewi-The Anambra State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Wednesday described as outstanding, it’s performance in the just concluded general elections.

This was disclosed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu while speaking with newsmen in Nnewi on the party’s performance in the elections.

Nwangwu attributed the superlative performance of the party to quality leadership offered by Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu’s led executive committee.

While agreeing that PDP had always bedeviled by factional and divisional tendencies before any major election, he said that it has not been the case under the watch of Chief Nwobu.

The PDP image maker in the State noted that “for the first time since 1998, the party worked together under one umbrella and as a family and that was a major factor in our impressive outing at the polls.”

According to Nwangwu, PDP under the present dispensation was able to produce two senators and sixty percent of members of House of Representatives as well as improving the membership of PDP lawmakers in the State House of Assembly from two to six members.

“We are optimistic that PDP Anambra State will soon produce the nation’s vice president, it is a matter of small time our stolen mandate will be recovered.”

“The PDP family in Anambra State is particularly impressed with our performance because we did well in the face of stiff opposition from other political parties accompanied with vote buying and intimidations.

We therefore thanked the people of Anambra State for keeping faith with PDP, we assure you that all the elected PDP lawmakers in the State and National Assembly will not let the people of the state down, especially now we are working yo take the governorship seat in the next Anambra governorship election.
