WARRI—A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, Thompson Abideke, has advised Deltans to reject vote-buying and vote Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term in Saturday’s election.

Abideke said money politics was a sin that can destroy smooth election process by encouraging crisis.
Abideke, the Director, Operation Return Okowa for a Second Tenure, said: “The abundant peace being enjoyed by Deltans in all the 25 councils in the state is the effort of the governor, who has been able to bring all the warring ethnic groups together as one family.
“Before Okowa came on board, there were several crises that almost consumed the entire state, especially in the South senatorial district. But he has been able to settle various communal crises.”
According to Abideke, a lot of youths have been engaged as special advisers and assistants, while widows, youths and aged are also not left out in the scheme of things.
