Badagry (Lagos State) – A 22-year-old man, Tunde Salaudeen, who allegedly stole six new gas cylinders valued at N176, 300 was on Friday docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is facing a count charge of stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that Salaudeen committed the offence on March 18, at Morogbo Car Wash Bus Stop area of the state.
Adeosun said that the defendant stole one 60kg of gas cylinder, one 12.5kg cylinder, one 6kg cylinder and three 3kg cylinder, all valued N176,300, property of one Michael Njoku.
He said that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Lazarus Hotepo, admitted the defendant to a bail of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum
Hotepo, adjourned the case until April 11, for further hearing.(NAN)
