ASABA—The wife of the Governor of Delta State and Founder,  05 Initiative,  Dame Edith Okowa has relieved the burden of caring for a set of quintuplet  all girls delivered by a 29-year-old woman who died after giving birth three weeks ago.

Who says the maid can’t have what ‘madam’ is having?!

The governor’s wife, who was accompanied on the visit by the Director General of the O5 Initiative, Mrs Oghenekevwe Agas, promised to take care of the children and ensure that they grow up into responsible members of the society.

Dame Okowa, who thanked God for the birth of the children, pleaded with their father,  Uchenna Onyejekwe to be patient and avoid rushing home with the  babies, saying “the  economic situation of the country may necessitate certain actions, but there is always a solution for those who put their trust in God.”

Dame Okowa who paid the bills of some of  patients who were discharged but could not go home due to lack of finance also commiserated with Onyejekwe for the loss of his wife and prayed that God will grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss, while commending four nursing mothers who voluntarily donated breast milk for the care of the babies.

The children were showered with gifts which include cartons of diapers, baby wipes and Pre NAN baby formula. The O5 Initiative will also pay the bills when they will be discharged.

The wife of the Governor thanked the doctors, nurses and the hospital management for their show of love on the children.

The Chief Medical Director, Dr Victor Osiatuma and Prof. Angela Okolo who is the consultant Paediatrician in charge of the Neo Natal ward thanked the Governor’s wife for her quick response and kind gesture.

The 36 year old father of the Children Mr Uchenna Onyejekwe, an electrician living at Nkpor in Anambra state also appreciated Dame Okowa for coming to his aid, he prayed God to continue to shower her with many blessings.
