Leadway calls for increased support for security maintenance

Leadway Assurance Company Limited has canvassed for increased stakeholder support to government’s efforts in public security.

Executive Director, General Insurance, Leadway Assurance, Ms. Adetola Adegbayi, made this call when the company presented a Nissan Patrol van to the Iponri Police Division of the Nigeria Police Force, as part of its partnership with the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF.

Making the donation at the Leadway Assurance Corporate office in Iponri Lagos, Adegbayi said that for a megacity like Lagos State with an estimated population of nearly 20 million people, public security would normally pose a big challenge and thus, concern for well-meaning residents.

Responding, Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, said: “As the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria, and indeed West Africa, Lagos has its peculiar security challenges. The expenditure required to surmount these challenges is beyond what the state government alone can shoulder.

This is why the LSSTF continues to reach out to individuals and corporate citizens in the state to assist. In this regard, Leadway has been a very consistent strategic partner to us and we thank them and other organisations for their support.”
