SOME residents of Epe Local Council, Lagos embarked on jubilations, yesterday, after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the All Progressives Congress, APC House of Representatives Candidate, Wale Raji as the winner of the constituency election.

Meanwhile, at press time, President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s senatorial candidate, Bayo Oshinowo, were said to have won in 17 of the 19 wards of Epe local council.
Wale Raji was declared winner by the INEC returning officer for Epe Federal Constituency, Dr. Haron Akinloye.
According to him, Raji polled 18,327 votes while his closest contender, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Candidate, Oye Ayantuga, polled 13, 318 votes.
Earlier, the returning officer, Dr. Adelaja Odukoya, while announcing number of votes cast for President Buhari and Oshinowo, said: “For the Presidential election, the APC candidate recorded 17,710 votes while the PDP candidate, Abubakar Atiku, polled 13,305 votes. “Also, the APC candidate contesting for Lagos East Senatorial district scored 18, 713 votes while the PDP candidate, Abiodun Oyefusi, polled 13, 073 votes.’’
