Owerri—The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, yesterday said it discovered that some of their members have plotted against the success of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in Imo state.
The Imo State governorship candidate of ADC, Ejike Chukwu, raised the alarm through his Director General, Nicholas Okwuodu in Owerri.
Okwuodo said that part of the agenda of the group was to visit some governorship candidates in the state and declare support for them using the name of ADC.
He went further to say that the group by their action mocked the party and target weakening the prospect of ADC in Imo.

Okwuodo said: “These party members in their individual selfish interest and gullibility for instant financial gratification, have compromised the party’s ultimate electoral interest, and stooped shamelessly low to collect money from some notable gubernatorial candidates.
“The central essence of this embarrassing and disgraceful steps from these disgruntled party men is to completely act the dirty script written for them by some criminal elements.who are threatened by the interest of Imolites in the candidacy of Ejike Chukwu, who is at present the most credible and politically outstanding gubernatorial candidate in Imo state.”
He begged, “Imo electorate to disregard any statement and publication from these undesirable political elements as a farce.”
