Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has cast his vote at his polling unit, assuring the electorate that the exercise would be the best.
Ambode, who cast his vote at about 10:01 am with his wife, Bolanle, disclosed that the information at his disposal showed that the electoral materials have arrived various polling units.
The governor, after casting his vote at polling unit 033, commended Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC deploying the voting materials swiftly.
He said: ” I have just exercised my Civic right by voting in my polling unit and from the records that I already state,I can observe that the election is going on peacefully across the state.
“I am delighted that Lagosians have been cooperative ,we have had peaceful nights and ever since morning, everywhere has been very peaceful.
“We want to commend INEC ,they have been up to the task and almost everywhere, election materials are in place.
“In the places where materials have not got to, obviously, they are up to the task and those things would be done.
This election is going to be very peaceful and I it is very successful,” the governor added.
