•Testimonies’ galore at RCCG Congress
By Sam Eyoboka & Olayinka Latona
THE 21st Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, which began on Monday at the Old Arena in the Redemption Camp with a theme; “Glory Ahead” ended yesterday night with a combination of Holy Communion/anointing service with several spectacular testimonies of God’s marvellous works in the lives of people.
Apart from the 39 babies—21 boys and 18 girls—born at the Redeemed Maternity in the first five days of the programme there was an instant healing of a woman who rose from her wheel chair during a praise and worship session to respond to the Mass Choir ministering.
There were hundreds of other out- standing testimonies that will arouse the faith of doubting Thomases who believe that miracles belong to the Bible days only. For instant, a lady testified that her sister was operated upon and one her breasts was cut off as a result of cancer. When she visited the recuperating sister and prayed with her using an anointed handcerchief and three weeks later, God gave her two brand new breasts.
The story was told of a paralised elderly woman, Mrs. Modupeola Oluwafemi who came to the Congress on a wheelchair but was instantaneously healed while the praise and worship was on the high pitch.
She was forced to abandon her wheel-chair to the consternation of the youths, ushers and other onlookers at the old Arena who repeatedly shouted Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Halleluyah! Halleluyah! Halleluyah! as some of the youths lifted the woman while others lifted the wheelchair up in the air.
From far and near the testimonies came as many baren wives have become mothers, some terminally sick persons have been divinely turned around. By faith, many have applioed anointing oil or used anointed handkerchiefs and received their miracles. Just as many have survived fatal accidents, violent attacks by gun men, multiple victories and lifting in career and businesses.
16 years of childlessness
WE got married in 2002 and since then we have been trusting God for the fruit of the womb. In 2016, we were privileged to meet Daddy G.O. and he prayed for us and declared that we will soon shout for joy and share our testimony. We believed and trust God for manifestation of His word. In December last year, God proved Himself and he gave us quadruplets, one boy and three girls.

Deliverance from fire incident Pastor Tayo Bolaji
On June 28, 2018, I was coming from office and while on the Otedola Bridge, a fully laden tanker which was not far from my car lost its control. It fell and its content spilled on the road and it bursted into flame. To the glory of God, I did not understand how I and my colleagues managed to escape unhurt. Even though the car got burnt completely but God saved us and no life was lost. To God’s glory, the car was replaced few months.
Husband wins election Mrs. Okparaji.
I was here last year for the Holy Ghost Congress and to stand in the gap for my husband who was contesting for a political post then. I was fully expectant, at the auditorium. I sat around Pillar 2H and suddenly I saw a vision where the concrete pillar turned to a golden curtain and Daddy G.O. gave me a microphone and he said, ‘My daughter go and share your testimony’. To the glory of God, my husband did not only win the primary election but also emerged the winner by the grace of God.
Brand new heart
I was having a heart pain for some time, so I went to the hospital to find out what the problem was. I did an x-ray and when the result came out, I was told my heart would be operated upon. I wrote to Dady G.O. and he asked me to come to RCCG headquarters at Ebute Metta, Lagos, where he laid hands on me and that was the end of the pain.
Anointed handkerchief to the rescue
I had my first daughter in 2007 and the second in 2017. God opened my womb during the December 2016 Holy Ghost Congress. During the pregnancy, the doctor said I could not carry the baby to full term. So, I was told that I would have to tighten my womb but I refused and opted to tie the anointed handerkerchief Pastor Adeboye prayed on some time ago around my tunny in the day and the night.
I was in the US on the day of the delivery but then, there was the Houston floods and the hospitals were closed but God provided a midwife that took the delivery. I thank God because the babycame before she could cut me. I was delivered of a baby in August 2017.

Many eminent Nigerians including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili and her husband, Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel and his wife, Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonishakin and several gospel ministers like former CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Pastor Joe Imakando from Zambia, Apostle Emmanuel Kure, Apostle S.K. Abiara, Rev. Joe Olaiya, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, Bishop Wale Oke, Rev. Mercy Ezekiel among several others.
The special prayer for the nation was led by Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, praying for peace and progress of all countries represented at the event.
Pastor Imakando, who gave the first talk of the night, spoke on a topic, “The Lord of Hosts,” assured the congregation that the Lord, fights the battles of those who belong to him. “So do not panic,” he said. “Your battle is the Lord’s and he is happy to lead it if serve him.”
Rev. Olaiya, President of Kaduna-based Living Faith Foundation, gave the second talk on “Victims and Victors,”explaining that victory is only realized in battles– indicating that battles precede victories.
Recalling some of the various battles in life, he said victory or loss is a choice of individuals because no matter how tough and daunting a battle is there is always an ally to lead the fight for victory if we call on him. And he is Jesus!
Pastor Oritsejafor, who spoke on a topic, “Path of the Just” reminded the congregation that the world is a platform for the devil to afflict people with all manner of problems and to woo them into its world of darkness.
But, he said, there is assurance from the Creator of the world, who has unlimited power to save those who call on Him in truth.
“He is the Almighty God, whose power is far stronger than the power of the devil,” he said, citing Biblical examples of cases where God triumphed over the devil.
Oritsejafor testified how he overcame a demonic possession on his family that ensured that every male in his family does live beyond 34 years. “My father died at the age of 34. His brother looked so much like him was traveling from Lagos to Delta when he had accident somewhere around Ijebu Ode and was rushed to Igbobi. He was treated and the doctor told him to relax and they would come back to see him. By the time the doctor came back he was dead also at 34.and went home at also died at 34.
“Just when I turned 34, I became very sick. One night around 1.00 a.m. I heard a voice which said: ‘I will kill you like I killed your father.’ It was then I realised thaat it was family battle. I prayed all night till 7.00 a.m. God told me its been done. Since then nobody dies at 34 again. The battle is over,” he said, urging his listeners to tow the path of just.
