The chiefs and kingmakers of Ogulagha kingdom, Burutu local government, Delta State, have affirmed that HRM Elder Capt. Joseph I.Timiyan, the paramount ruler of Ogulagha kingdom remains king over the kingdom.

The Ogulagja Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs, in a press statement signed by Chief William Igere, Chief James Yeinanagbegha, Chief William Borme, Chief Prefua Karawei, Chief Freason Dose and 25 others called for a peaceful resolution of the seeming unrest and political imbroglio in Ogulagha community.

They condemned the unguarded utterances made by some few persons in Ogulagha community against the traditional ruler in the media, describing it as desecration of Ogulagha kingdom’s traditional stool.

“ It has become pertinent to state and and to make it clear that the Traditional Ruler, HRM, Elder (Capt.) King Joseph I. Timiyan (JP) does not take part in the elections of the community’s executive members and does not interfere in the process of so doing by the communities. Disputes that might   arise therefrom are managed and resolved by the chiefs and  elders of the respective communities. And if for any reason, the attention of the traditional ruler is drawn, he may proffer advice and no more”

It continued “ The council is aware that the pronouncement of disowning our king is not a decision of the entire Ogulagha community; rather the pronouncement was made by few  persons. The Council hereby condemn the action and demand  that it should be withdrawn with due apology.

The protests and  allegations are baseless”

“ The Council hereby advice these category of persons to brace up for peace and unity. The  entire Kingdom shall remain to be one and a day of division in  the kingdom will never come. We shall always remain under one ruler  as it was designed by the Almighty God,
