Beloved, the advancement of the world in every ramification is a manifestation of the infinite wisdom of God. It is by this divine wisdom that salvation of mankind was initiated. And any other wisdom or idea that end-angers our salvation is not of God but of man and it will lead to hellfire.
The wisdom of God placed man in the Garden of Eden and supplied him all he needed, but the wisdom of man ruined the blissful life and denied him everlasting supply. However, God in His infinite wisdom offers man salvation that will bring about his restoration.
This wisdom that offers us salvation is what we must desire in order to escape from the wrath of God. If you have this wisdom as a child of God, you will never be fascinated by the things and wisdom of this world. You will through that wis-dom from above discern the emptiness and foolishness of this world and abhor everything in it.
I Corinthians 7:29-31 states, “But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.”
Beloved, let us understand that even the wisdom of the world teaches that nothing is perma-nent. Everything grows to die in the world, so also will be the fate of the world that hosts it and the end to all these things is near. So, if you are still anch-oring your faith on the wisdom of the world, let it be known to you that it perishes and event-ually will lead you to destruction very soon.
I therefore entreat you to detach yourself from the glory of this world for it will soon pass away. Let it be sunk in our head that this world is short and passing away. That fruit making you to puff up will soon get rotten either by the element of the world or nature and if that is the case there is need for caution in its enjoy-ment so that you will not be too much affected when you are having it or too much afflicted when it is gone.
As fashion in this world chang-es, so does everything pass away continually. This world is like a stage, people act their parts upon it and soon dis-appear, and thereafter, the stage itself is pulled down. The knowledge that all the comforts and conveniences of this life fade and pass away from us, should be a strong motive and inducement to us not to set our hearts upon them. But there is a world to come where the fa-shions do not fade nor change, where everything remains fresh permanently. And anybody who wants eternal life must not discard this wisdom that off-ers the principal knowledge of salvation.
Mark 8:36-37 says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Nothing of all you possess in-cluding your wife, children, money, and property can be given in exchange of your soul. I don’t know what you have gi-ven your life over to, neither do I know what you are attached to, but in all, remember there is nothing you can use to exchange your soul and all the things of this world including its glory will pass away and if we follow them we will also pass away into destruction. So let us put on the wisdom that matters and seek for the salvation of our soul.
