WARRI- A human rights and environmental activist in Delta State, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has advised social media crusaders to properly scrutinize information they disseminate on the social media, as spurious details spewed by some so-called activists have damaged the integrity of real campaigners in the country.
Mulade, also a House of Assembly aspirant in Warri South-West constituency, Delta state, asserted, “Social media practitioners should desist from lip service activism, they should verify their facts before going to post on social media in order not to malign some personalities with their post for their selfish interest or as well impress some individuals and group.”
“A lot of comrade- activities are operating against the ethics of comradeship because of eye service to perceived individuals and groups,” he stated.
He, however expressed delight at the awareness created by activities of seasoned and professional activists in the Niger Delta, “who exposed the deprivation and long neglect of the area by the federal government and championing development of the region..”
