By Dayo Johnson

AKURE — AN Ondo State High Court sitting in Okitipupa, weekend, dismissed a suit challenging the appointment of Professor Sunday Adejimola Amuseghan as the Kalasuwe of Apoiland in the Ese-Odo area of the state.

Professor Amuseghan, a don at the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko was appointed by the kingmakers, on January 29, this year.

A suit was, however, filed by Prince Joseph Orire David of the Ugele-Udumu Ruling House, who sought the order of the court that the appointment should be set aside.

In his 24-page ruling on the preliminary objection, the judge, Justice Bode Adegbehingbe, said: “This court holds that the claimant has not disclosed a reasonable cause of action in his statement of claim. This court does not have jurisdiction to hear this suit. This suit is hereby dismissed.”

In all the submissions made by the claimant’s counsel, he did not state that the registered declaration was not in place or was not registered.
