Jos—Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has tasked the newly-posted General Officer Commanding, GOC, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, 3 Armoured Division, Nigerian Army, Rukuba, Major General Ben Akinroluyo, to bring his knowledge and wealth of experience to bear on the security challenge in the state.
This came as the National Coordinator of Middle Belt Conscience Guard, MBCG, Raymond Enero, also charged the Nigerian Army not to fall to the temptations of political merchants, who would always create a pathway for perpetration of evils to tarnish the success story in the fight against terrorism and other insurgencies in the country.
Lalong, who commended the military for evolving an all-encompassing security architecture for the well-being of the nation, also expressed optimism that the GOC would succeed in his assignment.
Speaking in Jos while receiving Maj.-Gen. Akinroluyo, who was on a courtesy call, Governor Lalong added “I am confi-dent that you will enrich our security infrastructure with your knowledge and experience.”
Earlier, Akinroluyo said he was in the Government House to formally introduce himself and assure the government and people of the state that the military will continue to play its responsibility in the best military traditions.
