AKURE—THE socio-political Pan-Yoruba organisation, Afenifere, has said that it is disturbed by the degenerating situation of the country’s security.
It also described the raising of an impeachment notice on Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom by eight out 30 members of the state House of Assembly as legislative rascality.

Afenifere
Afenifere said this after its monthly meeting at the residence of its leader, Pa Rueben Fasoranti, in Akure, Ondo State.
In a communiqué signed by Chief Korede Duyile and Comrade Jare Ajayi, the group said: “The excessive migration from the North, especially by unskilled youths, gives cause for concern. It is our view that the Federal Government’s failure to take decisive steps in curtailing security breaches is not only emboldening perpetrators, it is accentuating insecurity and seriously endangering the lives of millions of Nigerians.”
On the impeachment notice served on Governor Samuel Ortom, Afenifere said: “This legislative rascality has been condemned in the Senator Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo State’s case and must never be allowed in any part of Nigeria. The right of citizens to freely associate with any political party of their choice should never be visited with state-inspired persecution, intimidation and direct assault as is being visited on Governor Samuel Ortom.”
