KOKO—CHAIRMAN of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Aduge Okorodudu, has appealed to the Federal Government to incorporate communities in the council in its lofty development plan for the Niger Delta region.
Okorodudu, who spoke to newsmen at Koko, headquarters of the council listed the construction of a bridge to Ogheghe community, a popular trading community in the area, adding: “The construction of bridge leading to the popular Ogheye floating market will bring economic growth, development, prosperity and generate more revenue to the Federal Government.
“I commend the Federal Government for the plan to dredge the Koko Sea and re-open the seaport in Koko, which will help decongest the traffic quagmire faced by Lagos and improve the economic life of the people in my area besides provision of direct and indirect employment to our teeming youths.
“In fact, I urge the Federal Government to fast track these projects to boost the economic development of the area. I also praise the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for his giant strides in the riverine areas of the state and entreat him not to relent,” he added.
