Following his contributions towards the development and sustenance of peace in Igbo land, Chief Joseph Obudi Udekwe was on 26th August conferred a chieftaincy title ‘Ochiagha Igbo’ by Igwe Douglas Akwara of Umuna, Imo state.

Chief Udekwe who has always put in his best in upgrading and maintaining both economic, political and security standard in Igboland, expressed his gratitude and vowed to use his position to strengthen and unify Ndigbo.

His words, “My heart is filled with joy. I merit the title. It’s meant to be. I asked the Igbo ancestors to protect me. I will do my best to help Ndigbo. May God bless Igwe Douglas Akwara, Umuna and Omabala people. We are fearless, fearless people, may God bless Ndigbo”, he finally said.

Fielding questions from journalists, Chief Douglas Onochie, Eze Umuokolobia and Chief Amaechi Ajide, Chairman Ikenga Umueri unanimously commended the chieftaincy tile conferred on Obudi and urged him to do more for Ndigbo.

On his own part, the People’s legislator, Hon Pharm. Obinna Emeneka (Ijele Omabala), expressed his gratitude and charged Obudi with the responsibility of leading Igbo to achieve more greatness.

Among those who graced the occasion include Eze Nkele Nzekwe of Igbariam and other Igwes from Anambra state.
